Book a florist or floral designer 6 to 9 months prior to your wedding date, 12 months if during popular wedding months of Spring and Fall
Expect to pay a nonrefundable deposit when you book your florist. Some require ½ of order, while others require smaller amount. Balance of order will be due at least 3 weeks before the wedding.
Review the contract details to make sure you are comfortable before signing.
Make sure you can make changes to your order if needed, and the deadline to do so.
Expect to pay your florist with a check or credit card, and to sign the original contract during a meeting with the florist or mail the original to them.
Wedding flowers are typically 10% of your overall wedding budget
Ceremony flowers can be re-used or re-purposed for the reception
Floral designers book up fast for popular wedding months- Spring and Fall
When a florist provides you an estimate let them know as soon as possible if you will be booking them
Remember that nature has unlimited variants, and the specific shade or shape of the flower you’re looking for might simply not be available
Flower prices can fluctuate all year long but especially around Valentine’s day, Mother’s Day, Administrative Day, Easter, and November and December
Plan on allocating $300 to $1,000 in your budget for arch/arbor floral designs or other installations. Pricing also depends on the type and amount of flowers needed
Images posted on Pinterest, Instagram and in wedding magazines are almost exclusively high-end, expensive flowers and not readily available. Some flowers do not exist! Lighting also does not accurately represent the true colors.
